Palaeobotanical collections

The palaeobotanical collections (KRAM P) are the richest and most important of this kind in Poland (about 100,000 catalogue units), important also on the Central European scale. Fossil materials are represented by: pre-Paleogene (older than 65 million years), Paleogene-Neogene (65 million – 2.6 million years) and Quaternary (younger than 2.6 million years) floras. Moreover, of special importance is 54 thousand specimen-rich comparative collection of the contemporary vascular plants and palynological collection of about 20 thousand microscopic slides.
