The photo shows four women. The oldest one is sitting on the chair in the middle, three women at all ages are standing behind her. The photo was taken in a garden. The youngest woman, standing on the right in the photo, holds a bunch of wild flowers. Apparent from the description of the owner of the photo it shows his relatives living abroad during their visit to their cousins in Kołomyja in Poland . There is an inscription on the back of the photo: “Our mother in the front, behind her Stefka [Stephany] and next to her her sister-in-law…(text illegible). For auntie as a memento, Kołomyja October 25th,1938”; 25.X.1938, Kołomyja ; The photo sent to the contest “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly „Nowa Wieś” (New village). The copy of the photo in the possession of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute of the History of Material Culture).
